Four CISF Personnel Killed In Fratricide Shooting Incident At Kathua Hydroelectric Project

Four Central Industrial Security Force personnel were killed on Tuesday evening in a fratricide shooting incident in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. A 2009-batch head constable opened fire on his colleagues following a verbal altercation.The incident took place at approximately 7 pm at the Sewa hydroelectric power project located in Mashka village under the Basohli area. The accused head constable allegedly used his service firearm during the altercation.The four victims sustained critical bullet injuries in the shooting and were rushed to a nearby NHPC hospital. They succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment.The deceased personnel have been identified as Assistant Commandant Ankit Kumar Pandey, Sub-Inspector Lakshman Singh, Constable Rafiq Ahmed, and Constable Sandeep Kumar. Senior police and CISF officers rushed to the site following the report of the shooting.The accused shooter was overpowered by other personnel at the scene and taken into custody. He was subsequently handed over to the local police for further legal proceedings.The Central Industrial Security Force has initiated an internal inquiry to examine the exact circumstances and the underlying cause of the argument that led to the shooting. Senior authorities stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
