Residents of several areas in the Kashmir Valley need to prepare for a temporary power cut. The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a planned electricity shutdown for essential maintenance work. This is a routine grid maintenance exercise to ensure a more reliable power supply in the future.

The shutdown will affect different areas on different days, so please check the schedule carefully to avoid inconvenience.

1. For SRINAGAR Districts – Date: 14th January 2026 (Wednesday)

• Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon (1 hour)

• Reason: Shutdown of the 33 kV Alasteng Zakura and Alasteng Nagbal lines.

• Areas Impacted: Pandach, Pathan Colony, Gulabagh, Mir Mohalla, Umarhair, Nowbugh, Ahmad Nagar, 90 ft Road, Khalmullah Shuhama, Bakoora, Nagbal, Malshaibagh, Saloora, Gadoora, Fatehpora, Shairpathri, और आसपास के इलाके।

2. For GANDERBAL District – Date: 14th January 2026 (Wednesday)

• Time: 09:30 AM to 03:00 PM (5.5 hours)

• Reason: Shutdown of the 33 kV Kangan Surfraw line.

• Areas Impacted: Gund, Gadribal, Kullan, Gagangeer, Sonamarg, Fraw, Ganiwan, और आसपास के इलाके।

3. For GANDERBAL District – Dates: 15th & 17th January 2026 (Thursday & Saturday)

• Time: 09:30 AM to 03:00 PM on both days.

• Reason: Shutdown of the 33 kV Wangath Tap line.

• Areas Impacted: Babanagri, Wangath, Naranag, Kachnambal, और आसपास के इलाके।
