Jammu and Kashmir Government ने रविवार को पूरे Union Territory में Pulse Polio Drive का आयोजन किया। Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ने parents से भावुक अपील करते हुए कहा कि वे 0–5 years आयु के हर बच्चे को polio drops जरूर पिलाएं, ताकि बच्चों का future सुरक्षित रह सके।
CM Omar Abdullah ने J&K को polio-free region बनाए रखने की सरकार की strong commitment को दोहराया। X post में CM’s Office ने कहा, “आज (Sunday) शुरू हुई Pulse Polio campaign के तहत Chief Minister ने parents से आग्रह किया कि वे अपने बच्चों को nearest booth पर ले जाकर oral polio vaccine जरूर दिलाएं।” उन्होंने health workers और volunteers की भी तारीफ की, जो “our children’s future को सुरक्षित रखने” के लिए लगातार मेहनत कर रहे हैं।
इस अभियान की शुरुआत Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo ने Government Hospital, Gandhinagar से की, जहां उन्होंने बच्चों को polio drops पिलाकर campaign को kick-start किया। Minister Itoo ने कहा कि routine immunisation और community participation UT के polio-free status को बनाए रखने में सबसे अहम भूमिका निभाते हैं।
Frontline staff की सराहना करते हुए Sakeena Itoo ने कहा, “दूर-दराज़ के इलाकों में जाकर बच्चों को सिर्फ two drops पिलाना आसान नहीं था, लेकिन हमारे ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, volunteers और district health teams ने यह जिम्मेदारी पूरी dedication के साथ निभाई।”
Health Department के अनुसार, इस अभियान के लिए पूरे UT में करीब 11,000 booths लगाए गए हैं और लगभग 40,000 healthcare workers को तैनात किया गया है। Campaign के दौरान लगभग 20 lakh children को polio drops पिलाने का target रखा गया है।
Minister ने बताया कि सभी districts में special immunisation booths, mobile teams और house-to-house visits की व्यवस्था की गई है, ताकि कोई भी eligible बच्चा छूट न जाए। साथ ही, effective implementation के लिए robust monitoring mechanisms भी लागू किए गए हैं।
