लगातार दो दिनों से जम्मू के कई इलाकों में dense fog छाए रहने के मद्देनज़र, Traffic Police Rural Jammu ने शनिवार को एक detailed traffic advisory जारी की है। Advisory में commuters को poor visibility, road accidents और traffic congestion के बढ़ते खतरे को लेकर सतर्क किया गया है।
SSP Traffic Rural Jammu द्वारा जारी advisory के अनुसार, foggy conditions में driving करते समय motorists को maximum caution बरतने की सलाह दी गई है। Drivers से कहा गया है कि वे high beam की बजाय low-beam headlights या fog lights का इस्तेमाल करें, speed कम रखें और आगे चल रहे वाहन से कम से कम 4–6 seconds की safe distance बनाए रखें।
Advisory में यह भी ज़ोर दिया गया है कि vehicles की headlights हमेशा on रखें, windshields clean हों और defrosters का सही इस्तेमाल किया जाए ताकि अंदर से fogging न हो। Traffic Police ने commuters को traffic signs, lane markings, reflectors और cautionary signages का सख्ती से पालन करने, lane discipline बनाए रखने और unnecessary overtaking, sudden braking या sharp turns से बचने की हिदायत दी है।
इसके अलावा, junctions, flyovers, highway exits और interchanges पर extra caution बरतने की सलाह दी गई है। Drivers को pedestrians, cyclists और slow-moving vehicles पर खास ध्यान देने को कहा गया है।
Traffic Police Rural Jammu ने motorists से अपील की है कि extremely poor visibility के दौरान non-essential travel से बचें, extra travel time लेकर चलें और emergencies के लिए mobile phones charged रखें। Braking से पहले indicators का सही समय पर इस्तेमाल करने और gentle braking पर भी ज़ोर दिया गया है।
